Can I cook with Protelicious or put it in hot drinks?
Some do bake with our protein. We don’t recommend it as you lose some of the antioxidant and detox capacities of our Protelicious whey. Please don’t put it in hot liquids, it just doesn’t work. See our site for recipes.
What is the difference between whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate?
The concentrate is a less processed form of Isolate (and therefore has slightly less protein per 100 g). Additionally, the concentrate is SIGNIFICANTLY better tasting. To us the choice to stick to concentrate over isolate was obvious.
Will I get bulky if I consume whey protein?
No! Protein is necessary for both structural and operational body functions. We need on average 1-gram per kg of body weight every day because we can't store the amino acids (protein building blocks) that are necessary for body functions, whereas we can store fat and carbohydrates. This is why we need to replenish our supply daily. "Getting bulky", is the result of years of dedicated workouts, a genetic predisposition, and a MASSIVE food intake. Protein will only strengthen your body and its structure.
I'm Lactose intolerant…can I still take Protelicious Whey?
Yes! You would have to consume approx. 8 scoops (25 grams each) of our Whey to have the same amount of lactose found in 1 big glass (250 ml) of milk! Nonetheless, whey protein is a milk derivative, so if you are lactose intolerant, caution should be taken. If you are allergic to lactose, naturally avoid altogether.
Can I take whey protein if I am pregnant?
Protelicious whey is safe and in fact, adds significantly to health when pregnant. Please see recommendations from our Dietitian for during and postpartum use here. However, as is always the case when pregnant, consult your physician.
Is whey protein safe for children?
Yes. Dieticians recommend us in fact. For children below 5, please consult your dietitian for quantities. Above 5 years, please refer to the table here for recommended dosage. .
How much protein should I take per day?
We need on average 1 gram of protein per kg of body weight every day. However, this amount does vary based on age, activity level, pregnancy and other factors. Please visit our website for recommended quantities of Protelicious. In general, a moderately active adult would benefit from 1 scoop of Protelicious everyday. If in doubt ask your doctor, dietician or nutritionist.
Can I use Protelicious Protein to lose unwanted body fat?
Yes! Using protein as meal/snack replacement is a tasty and low-calorie way to help you in your efforts to shed fat without losing muscle - as a bonus: protein increases satiety and there's NO added sugar in our products
Can I use your Protein to gain weight?
Mixing our protein with some whole milk or blending it with a banana is a great way to add some quality calories to your day, helping you strengthen your body and structure.
